In this blog posting I'm sharing a vlog of mine on Jennelle Eliana, that solo female traveler, living her vanlife with her pet snake Alfredo. This is an experiment of mine to see whether a reaction vlog on a trending traffic will give me better traffic than my usual vlog.
Well, I definitely received double if not triple my usual traffic. So posting trending topic could be a way for you to make your vlog or channel discovered as well. I was also experimenting on the use of keywords too in that vlog of mine. And yes the use of keywords could make or break the views for your blog.

In this blog posting, I'm sharing with you my vlog that I did on the KL Eco Forest Park located at Bukit Nanas, here in Kuala Lumpur. The entrance to the park is free but there are a few entrances so you have to make sure that you got to the right entrance especially if you were going there from the LRT stations. The nearest LRT would be the Masjid Jamek LRT station and then you can walk for about 10 minutes to get to one of the entrance.
There is also a canopy walk inside the park that you can get on but if you are scared of height you might want to skip the walk.

In this blog posting, Im sharing a vlog that I did on my visit to the Chamang waterfall in Bentong, Pahang. The waterfall is also known in the local language as Air Terjun Chamang.
The waterfall is located outside of Bentong and if you were coming from Kuala Lumpur you could take an express bus and later take on a taxi to get to the waterfall. You dont have to trek or anything but the place could be congested during the holidays with the local.
Alternatively you can rent a car and drive to get there. There were a number of fatalities at the waterfall so it is advisable to be vigilant while swimming there.

Looking back this is not too bad a vlog, so theres a hope for me to make it in the vlogging world 😂 But having said that its a surprise that it didnt do as well as my other vlog - even the cringier one - so its really difficult to predict sometimes.
So if you have an Iphone 6 Plus, you could use Imovie or Filmorago - the free version, to make it to youtube. I also just use my mobile connection to upload to youtube.

In this blog posting, Im sharing a vlog that I did on Cor Blimey, a very British Fish & Chips restaurant at Sri Hartamas. It costs about RM40 for an individual meal there, so thats roughly about $10 USD.
The fish & chips was lovely with a few flavour to choose from.

In this blog posting, Im sharing with you a vlog that I did on my visit to Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary, Lanchang, Pahang, Malaysia. The other name for the centre is the National Elephant Conservation Centre.
Looking back at the vlog, I cant believe that the road trip itself took about six minutes of the vlog. So feel free to skip the journey if you want to go straight away to watch the elephants 😂.
There are public amenities like the toilet facility and a lounge at the centre. Depending on what you want to do you could spend a day or half a day there. In my case I just spent half a day there and in the afternoon we went to a waterfall on our back to Kuala Lumpur.
Overall it was a nice experience. I was low on energy at the start of the vlog I might need to start drinking coffee before vlogging from now on 😂.

The audio to your vlog is very important and if you are vlogging with your phone the audio might not be as good as you like if you just rely on the onboard mic of your device. It helps therefore to use additional mic to boost your audio.
I am vlogging with my Huawei P10 Plus and my Iphone 6 Plus and I used Boya By-M1 lav mic to boost my audio. The wires for the mic was a bit long so I bought another mic from Comica.

In this blog posting, I'm going to share a vlog of mine about going to a barbeque restaurant at the Midvalley Mall here in Kuala Lumpur.
Looking back at the vlog, I think I made the mistake of opening the vlog quite late with my voice over. The second mistake that I made was Search Engine Optimisation(SEO's) related because I did not include the name of the restaurant in the title of the vlog.
The vlog was posted probably around February and that it received traffic up until May and then it went quiet traffic wise after. Then I included the name of the restaurant in around October and after that it started to receive traffic again, mostly through the youtube search function.

In this posting, Im going to share a vlog that I did on using Boya by-m1 lavalier mic. It was a short vlog of me using the Boya mic with the open camera app. Later I compared the audio to using the onboard mic on my Huawei P10 Plus with the open camera app.
I might do a proper vlog on this in the future because it did receive quite some views.

In this blog posting, Im sharing a vlog that I did on a bowl of springy noodle that I had at Oldtown White Coffee. Its certainly one of my favourites bowl of noodle.

Looking back the audio for the voice over was a bit low. Ive learnt my lesson that its best to do the voice over during the editing stage instead of doing it while filming.

The audio for your recording is one of the important things to get right while vlogging. In the beginning, I just used the onboard mic on my mobile but then the volume of the recording would be on the low side.
Then I managed to procure a Boya By-M1 lav mic and it works well with my Iphone 6 Plus. I did then go out to vlog and the result was a better audio for the vlog. But having wires dangling out of your mobile phone was certainly not fun.
So I might try to get myself a shotgun mic in the future for vlogging out and that the lav mic would only be used indoor.

Welcome to another posting of my blog. In this posting, I'm going to share a vlog of mine about how to get your first 50 subscribers vlogging on youtube.
It took me about 3 months to reach 50 subscribers on youtube and here's the vlog if you are interested to have a look. I shot the vlog at KLCC Park and looking back a year later it was quite fun to get out of my apartment to do a vlog.
Just make sure though that you got a quiet corner to yourself to vlog for a while. The vlog was shot on my Iphone 6 Plus using my Boya By-M1 lavalier mic.

This last few years we have the emergence of the coin operated self service laundry in Kuala Lumpur or KL here.
They are a bit cheaper than the normal laundry and these places normally open 24 hours a day. Some locals do use these services because they have drying machines which most household would not have. So they are quite popular especially during the rainy season because its going to take longer to dry your clothes by hanging them. Malaysia is a tropical country and so you could just hang your clothes to dry.
Anyway Ive vlogged my experience going to one of these laundry and I was quite surprised myself because I had to take off my shoes. Its customary to take off your shoes if you enter a house but for a public space like a shop we normally keep them on.

After using my Huawei P10 Plus to vlog for the first few episodes, I finally decided to try using my Iphone 6 Plus to vlog. I found that the vlogging, editing and uploading equally easy. But since I have my mobile line on my Huawei, I have to use the wifi connection to upload my vlog.

In this blog posting Im experimenting with a change in the title of my vlog, to see if the change in the title would make any difference. The original title to this vlog was "A party outside of a RM30 million property" and the last I check it clocked some 78 views.

So it will be interesting to see if the change in the title would bring any views to the vlog. So far that particular vlog didnt receive any new views after the initial traffic. So its interesting to see if it can get a new breeze of life.

I've not posted for a while. There were just a lot of things to be done! Phew!
Anyway in this posting I wanted to share an episode of my vlog which did not really go as planned. I was supposed to vlog at an event at a friend's house but it turned out that the event was attended by a lot of people, and many that I don't personally know of.
Therefore I did not vlog and I ended up only taking a few short clips that were not enough to make a complete vlog on their own.
Fortunately everybody later decided to go out and so I then had enough material for a vlog. Well I guess when things didnt go as planned we had to improvise. I think that was my take home message here! 👍

One of the biggest problems of vlogging using your mobile phones was how to get the best recorded audio for your clips or your videos. One way to solve this problem was to use an additional mic to enhance the audio of your vlog. However I made the mistake of not using the appropriate app that could harness the power of the Boya mic by-m1 here. I only learnt later to use the open camera app to solve the audio issue.

Apart from doing a vlog on youtube, I also did some writings that I have uploaded to smashwords - a site where you can publish your e-book.
So in this vlog, I did my writings in a fast food restaurant at the Petronas Twin Tower. I did find that doing writings outside of my apartment help me to focus on the task at hand.

After getting the hang on how to do an intro and to later edit my vlog, I decided to be more adventurous by talking more in my vlog. The recorded sound however was not up to my expectation because I was just using the onboard mic of my Huawei P10 Plus mobile.
Also I did the mistake of using a track that I do not have the licence to. Fortunately I did not get a copyright strike, only that the holder of the copyrighted music would want to have a cut of whatever profit that I make from that vlog of mine(I still did not make any).

To my surprise however, I also did find my vlog posted under a different username on youtube 😲😲.. Im not too sure what to make of that just yet 😲😲..

After finding that it was possible for me to put together the footage that I have taken with my mobile phone Huawei P10 Plus using the editing app Inshot, I decided to re-edit the footage with another editing app that is available to be downloaded for free on the android operating system.
Contrary to the Inshot app, the Kinemaster editing app had allowed for all my footage to be displayed full on on the screen and Im finding that the appearance looked better than what was produced by the Inshot app.
Needless to say, I started to use Kinemaster more often for my mobile editing from then on. So yes, if you have a mobile phone that can take decent video, you can then use editing apps that you can download for free to start a vlog on youtube.
